Il On July 16th 2020 the Ministry of Culture nominated Bergamo Brescia as the Capital of Italian Culture. Designation motivated by the desire to provide an answer to the discontinuity which, from winter 2020, has profoundly marked global coexistence.

THE POINTS OF THE ITALIAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2023 PROGRAM
There are four macro-areas themes of action in the dossier: “the city as a cure“, which reinterprets the mutualistic tradition of local history in a post-pandemic perspective, from social housing to gender policies; “The city of nature”, as a rethinking of the relationship of individuals and the community with natural resources, from sustainable mobility to climate transition strategies; “The city of hidden treasures”, which wants to rethink the relationship of citizenship with the heritage, from world-famous centers such as Bergamo Alta and Brescia Romana to lesser-known itineraries and landscapes; and finally “the city that invents”, which involves a new and innovative business model, from universities to infrastructures
